I am not an engineer so i have to simplify things for myself sometimes. Our cars came with a certain oil filter which, up until now, has been the correct filter for our car. There is obviously something different (what, i don't know) about it that was used on our cars and not others. Now all of a sudden they want us to use another filter thats used on other cars that doesn't have that thing that made the other one different in it? (Get all that?) No thanks. They may be similiar, but something was different. It's worth my peace of mind to have 30 on hand and know that my Z (as well as future ones) has the correct filter on it for years to come.
